The Permobil SmartDrive is a compact, lightweight wheelchair power assist that adds effortless propulsion to your manual chair—giving you more freedom and less fatigue.
The Permobil SmartDrive is a lightweight, powerful solution designed to make manual wheelchair use easier and more efficient. Weighing only 12.5 lbs (5.7 kg), it’s compact, easy to attach, and just as simple to remove—perfect for travel, transport, and daily use.
With a range of up to 12.3 miles and a top speed of 4 mph, the SmartDrive helps you take on ramps, hills, carpets, and long distances with ease. It provides a smooth, consistent push so you can save your energy and reduce shoulder strain.
Control is simple and intuitive. Tap your PushTracker wristband to start and stop, or choose an alternative control. The SwitchControl gives you short power bursts or steady assistance for longer trips. The SpeedControl Dial attaches to the front of your chair and lets you adjust speed with a turn—giving you even more control on the go.
There’s also a SmartDrive MX2+ app for Apple or Android smartwatches. Use it to track your activity, monitor performance, and personalise your SmartDrive experience.
The Permobil SmartDrive fits most rigid and folding manual wheelchairs, including standing and tilt-in-space chairs, and supports users up to 150 kg. It mounts to the rear of the chair and has a low profile, so it won’t affect your turning or access in tight spaces.
